A Method of Slope Stability Evaluation Using Case-based Reasoning

This paper aims to present a method of slope stability evaluation using case-based reasoning based on practical slopes and engineering experiences. First, a new kind of utility function, which changes evaluation values with different dimensions and different classes into values in range of -1,1 with no dimension, is put forward, and the relationships between evaluation objects and evaluation indexes are as possible as to be made to be linear, therefore the function can be better emphasized the principle of reward good and penalize bad. Second, this paper defines a calculating similarity method, better showing the distance and difference between cases. Application results indicate the method is simple and practical.
