Nonlinear Characteristics of Electromagnetic Radiation Signals of Coal or Rock

Based on chaos theory, nonlinear characteristics of EMR signals time series of loaded coal or rock are analyzed by means of phase-space reconstruction. The results show that the correlation dimension D2 of EMR signals time series of loaded coal or rock in lab converges to stable saturation value, which shows that EMR time series of coal or rock have chaos characteristics. The correlation dimension D2 curve of EMR time series of coal or rock has obvious variation with impact danger, which becomes steep before rockburst occurring, and the steep peak value is bigger which indicates the risk of impact is greater. On the contrary, the correlation dimension D2 curve is flat and has no obvious variation in the period of no rockburst occurring. The random phenomena is supposed to appear in the EMR time series during a certain period after injection. So, based on the correlation dimension D2 of EMR signals of coal or rock, the ANN forecast model of rockburst danger of coal or rock is established, which will improve the accuracy for forecasting coal or rock dynamical disaster.
