Simulation Analysis on Roadway Stability in Different Stratum Structures and Its Reinforcement by DDA Method

The stability of roadways is one of the important problems in mining safety science. Discontinuous Deformation Analysis (DDA) method, which was especially developed to calculate the large deformations and large displacements of block systems, was utilized to simulate the roadway stability in rock medium with different joint distributions and different joint strength under different side coefficient levels of ground pressure, and for some of those unstable roadways, the effect of reinforcing bolts was also calculated by this method. The complex none-linear problem of the deformation and failure process of roadways is well solved by the DDA method.
