Relationship between Developed Degree of Joints and Roof Caving Risk in Bolting Roadway

Considered on broken degree of the roof strata of bolting roadway, roadway were divided into four sorts according to developed degree of joints. Using of large-size Discrete Element soft ware and based on theory of Newtons second law, the stress fields of four sorts of roof rocks and anchoring block which put forward above were analyzed and simulated. That stress level is higher on completer anchoring block in the developed joints zone in the roof has been pointed out. On the same time, what the important component of anchoring block-roof bolt and its load size is as direct ratio as developed degree of roof joint has been presented. The method offers monitoring object for forecasting risk of caving roof which supported by the bolt and establishes the new path to monitor supported quality of the bolt in roadway.
