Study on Establishing Open Pit Rock Blasting Optimum Model by means of Image Processing Technology

Blasting optimum model is a target of mine operator and mining engineer always pursuing, and seldom is studied because of lack of effectual means of calculating the size distribution of rock fragments in the muck piles ago. Now, the problem can be settled by means of image processing technology. In one open pit, 12 tests of different blasting parameters are carried out, tilting photographying method are used to take photos of muck piles. The size distribution of 12 muck piles is calculated by means of image processing technology, the rock blasting fragmentation control model is established. Basing on relation between excavator efficiency and the size distribution of 12 muck piles, the relation between loading cost and the size distribution of muck piles is established. The relation between camion conveyance cost and the size distribution of muck piles is established by analogous theory in laboratory. Finally, the open pit rock blasting optimum model is established, the blasting parameters calculated from the model are used to instruct blasting operating, some benefits are acquired. The blasting optimum model is very helpful to mining engineer and blasting engineer.
