Nonlinear Precise Integration Analysis of the Structure Subjected to Blast Seism

Structure is damaged by blasting induced ground excitations caused by engineering blasting or unexpected explosion accident. Time history analysis method is proposed to obtain comprehensive assessment on the safety of structures subjected to blasting induced ground excitations. The model of structural nonlinear dynamic analysis based on precise integration algorithm was established and some trouble of traditional algorithms can be avoided. The precise integration time history analysis program of structural nonlinear response under blast seismic is made and the precision of algorithm is validated. The comparison with elastic and elasto-plastic analysis shows two displacement curve shapes are similar but numerical results are different. The relativity between structural parameters and response to blasting induced ground excitations was analyzed by an actual engineering sample. Selection of appropriate restoring force model and application of elasto-plastic time history analysis are suggested to simulate structural dynamic response under blasting induced ground excitations. These suggested methods in this paper are more exact and direct to assess structural performance than the current rules and provide the theoretical basis for completely assessing safety of structures subjected to blast seismic waves.
