The Fuzzy Control of Safe Braking System Based on Genetic Algorithm

In order to make the hoist brake safely and reliably, the constant deceleration braking is usually adopted in the safe braking system of the mine hoist. Since the hoist constant deceleration braking system, which is a nonlinear one, has characteristics of big inertia and great delay. It is difficult to achieve the satisfying effect by the conventional control. Presently, the fuzzy control has been widely used in the braking system. To overcome the design deficiencies of the fuzzy controller and its online-adjusting parameters, the genetic algorithm is applied to optimize the fuzzy controller in the constant deceleration braking system. Namely, it is employed to optimize the fuzzy control rules and realize the online-adjusting of the fuzzy controller parameters. The simulated results indicate that the fuzzy control system is more dynamic, robust, and highly precise.
