The Application of Photonic Crystal in Gas Detection
we have designed a 1-D photonic crystal with dielectric material and air, when the light put into the crystal at a special incidence angle, if there is a little change in the refraction index of air of the photonic crystal, the intensity of the transmission light will change greatly. So this kind of photonic crystal can be applied to measure the refraction index of gas accurately, or design gas sensors in some special environments, such as gas detection in mine.
