Study on the Detecting System On-line For Electric Fault of Underground Distribution Switchgear in Coal Mine

The underground distribution switchgear of coal mine may easily get loose contact or adhesive contact after a using time, which severely endangers the safety in production. So it is necessary to repair the distribution switchgear regularly. But regular inspection has blindness, the workload of which is large and the cost of which is high, and will impact normal production. On the basis of analyzing the kinds, the mechanism and characteristics of electric fault of distribution switchgear, this article presents a fault on-line detecting method using wavelet transform and designs an on-line detecting system in which the single-chip microcomputer C8051 is core. First the lead-in voltage and out-of-line voltage of distribution switchgear is detected with high precision voltage sensor, and then filtering, A/D transforming and digital analyzing and handling extract the fault signal. In order to improve the reliability of fault detecting, the orthogonal quadratic spline binary wavelet transform was introduced. The system has the function of sound and light alarm and long distance communication and it can communicate data with production monitoring system of coal mine by standard interface. Preliminary test show that this system can detect the main electric fault of distribution switchgear quickly and accurately, overcome the blindness of regular inspection effectively, reduce the work strength of repairer, reduce the cost for repairing and reduce the hidden trouble in production and safety. Thus this system has the important economy value and social benefit.
