Numerical Evaluation of Thermal Environment in Deep High Temperature Mine

With the extending of deep mining, the problem of mine thermal harm has gradually became more and more obvious. In order to solve it, the cooling and other defense measures must be adopted, which conform to the request of safety, comfort and economy in workplace of the mine. Based on the characteristics of thermal environment in mine, this paper used the method of numerical simulation, and adopted the Predicted Mean Vote (PMV) to evaluate the thermal comfort of the environment in the mine with different design indices. The distribution of velocity, temperature and the value of PMV in the high temperature tunnel were obtained. The results indicated that when the velocity of wind at inlet was 0.8m/s, it could satisfy the requirement of cooling by ventilation in the tunnel with 40℃. At last, the optimized project of ventilation had been chosen. The results were visible and veracity.
