Forecasting Coal Mine Spontaneous Combustion by Radon Measurement Technique
Spontaneous combustion in coal seams is a prompted by inherent oxidation of coal accentuated by various environmental factors. Predetermination is the key technique of preventing and extinguishing the coal mine spontaneous combustion. This paper studies the possibility of radon(Rn)to be a new kind of indicator to forecast spontaneous combustion by deducing the radon migration rule and comparing its temperature characteristics with the traditional indicator gases(For example CO, C2H2 and so on),which can reflect spontaneous combustion characteristics. The results reveal that radon is not only a kind of new but more reliable indicator.
