Study on Minefield Characteristics of Small Coal Mines and Their Conformity Questions
Being a large numbers and small production capability, small coal mines are easily-happened and subjected area from accidents. So, Chinese government decides to deal with the problems for small coal mines by the means of closing up them or their minefields conformity within 3 years, so as to ultimately reduce accident possibility for coal mines in China. Xinhua District of Henan Provinces Pingdingshan City, China, was awarded a national major county or district of excavation coal. Based on the actuality of minefields of small coal mines in Xinhua District located in abandoned coal mines or mining levels of major state-owned coal mines of Pingdingshan Coal Group Company, China, the minefields of small coal mines are divided into two kinds of minefields which are intact seams and second-mining ones. At first, the author analyzed the buried law of mining seams, existent questions and their countermeasures of coal winning method for small coal mines. Only if coal winning method with wall style for small coal mines is employed and whole-equipments level improved, should the safety production for Chinese coal mines be guaranteed. At present, the number of small coal mines in Xinhua District is reduced down to 26, but their production capability is 90-150 thousand tons per year. The death rate of small coal mines is 0.26 peoples per million tons of production coal, which is less than that of average death rate in state-owned major coal mines of China. Therefore, coal resource conformity for small coal mines in Xinhua District is successful.
