Crisis Information Management in Emergency Handling of Accidents
Crisis information management plays a vital role in emergency handling of accidents. It even could decide the results of emergency to a certain extent. Errors in crisis information management probably augment the negative influence of accidents, and make the recovery more difficult. Crisis information management includes earlier preparation, scene management, controlling rumors etc. The earlier preparation means to prepare for the crisis information through establishing a crisis warning system and a crisis consultant organization. The scene management includes access control in scene, setting up a press point, establishing a crisis information center, holding press conferences, and so on. Controlling rumors could prevent rumors from the source through reducing the ambiguity of event. At present, the major problems of crisis information management in China lie in the conservative in idea, absence of powerful legal safeguard, and the government has not played the main role of the crisis information management.
