Public Safety Management Research on Performance-based Assessment of Fire Prevention for Buildings
With large-scale multi-functions complex buildings rising in great number, new challenge is brought into this emerging scientific research subject - public safety management. Establishing performance-based assessment of fire prevention is a new research approach that is based upon fire safety engineering study. It has gradually become the development trend among many countries in the world in their new fire prevention design for buildings. This paper analyzes the theory and method that is currently being adopted in safety assessment technology of fire prevention for buildings. This paper summarizes the major problems in the public safety management of complex and large-scale buildings. It provides solid scientific evidence for the development and research of the theory of public safety management.
