In-situ Biological Treatment Method of Nitrate Nitrogen under Groundwater
Ammonia and organic nitrogen compounds are existing forms of nitrogen in sewage while the latter form is the mainly existing form of nitrogen in underground water. In recent years, there are many successful removal nitrogen methods at home and abroad. Chemical coagulatory coprecipitation and in-situ biological restoring methods are the main ones to deal with groundwater which is polluted by nitrate nitrogen. Chemical coagulatory coprecipitation method has to dispose the pollution underground water after they have been extracted. Whereas, in-situ biological restoring method is artificially filling in organic matters into groundwater to promote the growth of denitrifying bacteria, and causes groundwater denitrify by denitrification reaction so as to reach the purpose of removing or reducing nitrate nitrogen under groundwater. The authors mainly discussed the influence factors and controlling condition of in-situ biological restoring method and studied the effect and applied conditions of this method, which has the important guidance to practical application of this method.
