The Shear Characteristics of Concrete Beams Strengthened with Near-Surface Mounted CFRP Laminates

The failure mode, the cracking moment and ultimate moment of the beams strengthened with near-surface mounted (NSM) CFRP are studied and compare with the beams strengthened with external bonded reinforced (EBR) CFRP by experimental. The strain distribution feature of CFRP strips by the oblique section and the influence factors of the bearing capacity of beams strengthened are analyzed. The study indicates that comparing with the beams isnt strengthened the loading-bearing capacity of the beams strengthened with near-surface mounted CFRP increased from 18.8% to 45.8%, and comparing with the beams strengthened with EBR CFRP the loading-bearing capacity increased from 11.8% to 29.6%.
