Stability Evaluation of Underground Gobs and their Countermeasures in Gerke Gold Mine
Millions cube of gobs are generated every year in gold mining, in which most are not disposed effectively and paid more attention to. According to the actual condition of the gob at Geerke Gold Mine, the exploration approaches, stability evaluation and dealing with approaches of the gob were presented in this paper. Stability analysis of the gobs by finite element method was also conducted. Based on the finite element analysis, the stress state and safety situation of gobs are exhibited. Two approaches of calculating safety thickness were given through theoretical analysis. The practical engineering illustrates that the approaches of dealing with the gobs and the safety technology discussed in the paper is offered the scientific guidance to the safe production of the mines.
