Research on Interfacial Shear Stress of Debonding Plate-end of RC Beam Strengthened with CFRP
Debonding of CFRP plate-end is a mainly premature failure of reinforced concrete members strengthened by means of externally bonded plate, which is mainly due to both shear and normal stress induced in the plate-end. By the experiment of 8 reinforced concrete beams strengthened with CFRP, the paper studies the interfacial shear stress distribution. The results show that unsheeted length (the distance between CFRP plate-end and the nearer support), layer number and concrete strength have the influence on interfacial shear stress and among them unsheeted length is the main influence factor and also decides debonding load. According to the results of experiments, the paper fits the formula of maximum interfacial shear stress and the calculated results of formula are in reasonable agreement with the test data.
