Study on penetration damage of target plate through nonlinear finite element simulation
In order to research the damage effect on target plate by hyper-velocity impact of fragments, mis paper applied the nonlinear finite element software to simulate the penetration. Considering the nonlinearity of penetration damage, it introduced-sampling and variable cluster analysis to determine indicators of target plate damage (TPD); adopted principal component analysis to construct an assessment model of TPD; applied variance analysis to discuss the significance of fragment characters on TPD. The results showed mat: under the significance level α=0.05, the effect of fragment velocity on TPD was significant, when α=0.01, the effect of interaction of fragment shape and its density was high significant This paper explored a new way to assess TPD, its also can be applied in assessment of large weapon equipment.
