Nonlinear analysis on rockfill dam with asphalt concrete core
Taking Jinping dam as an example, the laws of the stresses and deformations of the rockfill dam with asphalt concrete core were analyzed with a nonlinear constitutive model in this paper. Based on the analysis on the characteristics of rockfill and asphalt concrete, the Duncan hyperbolic model was taken as the constitutive model of the concrete for the simulation analysis of the dam. The results of mis paper are helpful to a good understanding of the behavior of this type of dam and the estimation for its safety. The results also provide theoretical basis for the popularization of this type of dam.
