On buckling critical state of a circular plate subjected to united heat and lateral pressure

Based on the series solution of large deflection of a circular plate subjected to combined heat and lateral pressure obtained by using the Galerlans method, the buckling critical condition of the plate was derived. By uniting the system of equations in terms of the coefficients in the solution with the critical condition, the curves of both the critical deflection and critical lateral pressure versus the critical temperature rise were analytically calculated for the case that both the pressure and the temperature rise were radial uniform. Meanwhile, the corresponding curves were computed numerically by using the software ANSYS. The relational curves indicate that both the critical deflection and critical lateral pressure nonlinearly increase with the critical temperature rise. The comparison of the present analytical results with the present FEM ones as wett as the previous related ones shows that the present analytical results are reasonable.
