Large deformation analysis of piles with elastic joints
In the present paper, a nonlinear mathematical model for the large deformation analysis of piles with elastic joints and located in an elastic soil is first presented by the arc-coordinate. Secondly, the differential quadrature element method (DQEM) is applied to discretize the nonlinear mathematical model, and an effective method for dealing with the large deformation, multi variable and discontinuity conditions is presented. Then, the Newton-Raphson method is used to solve the nonlinear discretization equations. Finally, numerical examples are given and the responses of deformed piles with elastic joints, including the configuration, angle and the bending moment, are demonstrated. The effects of parameters, such as the rigidity and the position of joints, on the responses of deformed piles are considered.
