Determination of constitutive parameters for viscous medium
The time-dependent properties of a viscous material were experimentally and numerically investigated, which is used in viscous pressure forming of sheet metal and called as viscous medium. Shear creep and recovery tests under different levels of shear stress were performed using a dynamic shear rheometer. With the aid of the finite element method, shear creep processes were simulated and parameters in the creep equation of viscous medium were determined. The simulated and experimental results reached a good agreement. The creep equation can be used as the constitutive equation of viscous medium to simulate other viscous pressure forming processes.
