Analysis on dynamic constitutive relationship of cement mortar specimens in sulphate erosion using SHPB
Under the condition of marine corrosion, the phase transition of liquid in voids in a cement mortar material may occur. The resultant of phase transition is the calcium sulphoaluminate (C4A3S) crystal, and it can also be called as ettringite. The nucleation and growth of ettringite may lead to the microdamage evolution in the cement mortar material, which implies that the macro constitution will be affected due to the attack of sulphate. Whereas, how the sulfate erosion with different concentration and the scale of the void in the cement mortar specimens influence the ettringite formation quantitatively and finally result in the change of constitutive relationship of matrix materials has not been investigated before. This paper focuses on the variety of the stress waves propagated in a cement mortar specimen under the attack of sulphate by using the SHPB experimental method. From experimental results, the dynamic constitutive relation at different erosion time may be obtained by means of the path-line method. The results show that the concentration of sulphate solution and the erosion time affect strongly the dynamic constitutive relation of cement mortar.
