Computational analysis of fluid-structure interaction in moving mechanical valves
The multigrid fictitious boundary finite element method for numerical simulations of a two-dimensional induced-moving rigid heart valve in a channel with sinus cavity was presented The main advantage of this methodology is to allow the numerical treatment on a fixed structured mesh and the use of fast solvers. Numerical examples were provided to show the efficiency of the presented method for detailed simulations of valve induced-motion and fluid flows around the valve in incompressible viscous flows.
