Numerical research on traveling wave locomotion for large amplitude elongated-body swimming micro-mechanism
This paper presents a numerical research on the traveling wave locomotion for large amplitude elongated-body swimming micro-mechanism in the laminar flow environment. According to the principle of movement, 2D finite element model of the simplified swimming micro-mechanism is established, and the fluid-structural analysis is performed to obtaine the traveling wave locomotion. The numerical simulation results show the regular rule of the fluid vortex generation and some discussion on the fluid and structural parameters for influencing on the propelling capability.
