Forecasting corrosion depth based on maximum Lyapunov exponent
Pipelines of oil and gas working for a long time, have an increase risk because of pipeline punctures and rupture caused by corrosion. Therefore, it is very important to have a reliable way for forecasting pipeline corrosion. The prediction of corrosion depth based on the maximum Lyapunov index and its evaluation were introduced in this paper, and the corrosion data were obtained by electricity resistance probe. The predicted results show that prediction has a more high precision, and the error is less than 6%, and the average error is 3.58%, which indicate that the prediction ways based on chaos theory is reasonable in the corrosion research, and can supply a scientific basis for pipeline repair and safety management also.
