Study of electric-field-induced crack growth in ferroelectric single crystal
The crack growth in PMNT62/38 ferroelectric single crystal subjected to an electric field was in situ observed by a polarized light microscopy (PLM). The experimental results reveal that the domain switching has an effect on the electric-field-induced crack propagation in ferroelectrics since crack propagation is found only at the crack tip where the domain switching appears.
