CG13142, A NOVEL PROTEIN, CAN PARTIALLY RESCUE Dmp53 OVEREXPRESSION PHENOTYPE

p53, a key tumor suppressor, plays magnificent roles on cell-cycle arrest, DNA repair, cellular senescence, differentiation and apoptosis. Overexpression of Necdin in N1H3T3 and SAOS2 cell lines can block p53 - mediated apoptosis while does not reduce p53 - induced cell growth arrest. In this paper, we cloned a novel gene encoding CG13142 protein, which can interact with Drosophifa MAGE homologue DmMAGE, and can partially rescue phenotype of Dmp53 when they co-expressed in eye discs under the control of pGMR-Ga14 in vivo. Expression level of CG13142 increased in Dmp53 - deficient flies. Furthermore, CG13142 was found directly interact with Dmp53 via its C-termtnal by GST pulldown. These results indicate that CG13142 can partially rescue Dmp53 Overexpression phenotype in some cell context through direct interaction, and its expression level may be regulated by Dmp53.
