Thermodynamic Assessment of the Si-Sr System
The Si-Sr system was critically assessed by means of CALPHAD technique. The solution phases (liquid, face-centered cubic, body-centered cubic, and diamond) were modeled with the Redlich-Kister equation. The compound βSi2Sr, which had a homogeneity range, was treated as the formula (Si,Sr)2Sr by a two-sublattice model with Si and Sr on the first sublattice, Sr on the second one, respectively. The intermetallic compounds, αSi2Sr, Si7Sr4, Si3Sr5, SiSr and SiSr2 were treated as stoichiometnc compounds. A set of self-consistent thermodynamic parameters of the Si-Sr system was obtained.
