WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK FOR E-MANUFACTURING
With emerging applications of internet and wireless communication technologies, e-manufacturing is focused on the use of internet, monitoring and communications technologies to make things happen collaboratively on a global basis. A wireless sensor network based data acquisition system gives enormous benefits such as ease and flexibility of deployment in addition to low maintenance and deployment costs. This paper reviews wireless sensor network and its application for e-manufacturing. To provide a dependable, non-intrusive, secure, real-time automated health monitoring, a distributed reconfigurable sensor network is introduced which consists of real and virtual sensor nods over a communication wireless sensor network using Mica2 motes. The paper discusses on-going work on different sensors and RFID for e-health monitoring, e-quality control, e-supply chain and security management in e-manufacturing. This lets manufacturers track the health of factory equipment, the movement of products along an assembly line and the delivery of inventory.
