RESEARCH ON E-QUALITY CONTROL ARCHITECTURE FOR MULTISTAGE MANUFACTURING PROCESSES

Despite the viability and potential impact of multistage quality control in the multistage manufacturing processes, there has been little research done in this area. This paper presents a new type of architecture of multistage quality control, named e-quality control system (EQCS), through deeply analyzing various process quality control methods. The EQCS integrates statistical process control (SPC), equipments status diagnosis technology, and state space model by e-formalizing all kinds of process information and their corresponding processed result with e-Technology. The four enabling technologies of EQCS are also discussed in detail. The physical and dimensional data associated with part manufacturing quality are acquired by the sensor network, and then, the e-formalized model attached to manufacturing equipment is established for tracking process information. Based on above mentioned ideas, a general model of stage flow is constructed in order to realize process-driven online quality control and improve part manufacturing quality.
