GEOMETRY DESIGN OF CONICAL CAMS WITH OSCILATING CONICAL ROLLERS
This paper studies the surface geometry of conical cams with oscillating rollers as meshing elements. The surface equation of conical rollers is established. The contact lines of the conjugate surfaces are defined according to the equation of meshing and the specified input-output relation. By applying the theory of conjugate surfaces, differential geometry, and coordinate transformation, the mathematical expressions for the surface geometry of the conical cam are derived. Based on the available surface geometry of the conical cam, the calculation formulas of pressure angle and synthetic curvature are ana-lyzed. Finally, a design example is given.
