Expedite Development of Water Resources Dredging Science in China
Due to such reasons as natural disasters and soil erosion, rivers/lakes/ reservoirs in China are silted up seriously, causing great danger to flood control, draught fighting and inland navigation. The necessity of water resources development and dredging is well illustrated both by the dredging of these waters in recent years, and the current implementation of the South-North Water Diversion Project. How to adapt water resources to economic and social development requirements, to establish and implement the scientific development point of view, to provide strenuous water sources guarantee in full-around construction of a well-off society, and to push ahead the sustainable development of water resources dredging in all respects- all these things not only demand our continuous renovation in theory and exploration in practice, but also require the attention of the whole society.
