TIME SYNCHRONIZATION FOR WIERLESS SENSOR NETWORKS USING THE PRINCIPLE OF RADAR SYSTEMS AND UWB SIGNALS
Time synchronization is one of the important issues of wireless sensor networks (WSN). In this paper we propose a new time synchronization method for wireless sensor networks (WSN) using ultra-wideband (UWB) signals under the inspiration of the ranging principle of RADAR systems. In the proposed method, the synchronization is based on transmitting reference UWB signals at physical layer between a pair of nodes and estimating the real system time of each node. The local time instant information of the corresponding node at which the UWB signals are being sent to the other one of the pairs is used in the estimation. The dynamic system model is then established and the computer simulations are performed using matlab Simulink. The analysis and the simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method.
