Preparation and Photocatalysis Performance of Cr3+ Doped Ba4In2O7 Nanorod Film
Ba4(In0.95Cr0.05)2O7 thin film on quartz substrate was prepared by an sol-gel method. The film was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectrometry. The as - prepared film was formed by nanorods and showed a wide light absorption range with a main absorption edge around 450 nm. Photocatalytic properties of the thin film were investigated by measuring degradation of methyl orange in aqueous solution under light irradiations. The decomposition rate reached 76% within 2 h. This thin film showed promising photocatalysis as it could be reclaimed and reused easily. Besides, the photocatalysis activity can be further improved by modifying the material and the photocatalysis reaction system.
