Pore-structure and Humidity Controlling Characteristics of Mesoporous Silica Synthesized in Acid Medium
The mesoporous silica material (SH) , with controlled pore size has been synthesized using hexadecyltriethylammon um bromide (CTAB) as template under acidic condition at room temperature. Then SH has been modified by adding 1, 3, 5-trimethyl-benzene (TMB) to SH +TMB. The microstructure of samples has been obtained by small angle X-ray scattering and high resolution transmission electron microscopy; the brunauer-emmett-teller (B. E. T.) surface area of the products has been determined by means of nitrogen adsorption. Their moisture absorption and desorption have been investigated. The results show that the humidity controlling performances of SH + TMB are better than that of SH.
