Preparation and Properties of Biodegradable Poly (Propylene Carbonate)/Montmorillonite Nanocomposites
Poly (propylene carbonate) (PPC) /organic montmorillonite (OMMT) composite were prepared by direct melt intercalation. XRD analysis indicated that PPC/OMMT nanoeomposites with intercalated structure were prepared. Tensile strength and impact strength of the nanoeomposites increased, while elongation at break decreased, compared with that of pure PPC. Moreover, Tg of the nanoeomposites increased and the optimum mechanical and thermal properties occurred when OMMT content was 6%.
