Maintenance and the Extension of Item Life

摘要：

After an item is maintained, there are three kinds of status: shortening, keeping and prolonging one in the item life. The statistical inference method is applied in the paper to discriminate respectively these statuses, with which the estimate of the mean life is obtained. The possibility of prolonging items physical life is qualitatively analyzed with maintenance technique. The ideal status of prolonging items economic life is quantitatively analyzed with maintenance technique. And the extension of the item operational life is discussed.
