Vehicle Maintenance Proces Optimisation Using Life Cycle Costs Data and Reliability-Centred Maintenance
For a long time, in the Czech Republic Armed Forces a great number of combat vehicles were monitored while in service with the aim to gather data on their reliability and maintainability (R&M), including related economic data. The results of data analysis showed unsatisfactory level of availability and costs related to the vehicle maintenance. That is why it was decided to use the reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) methodology for an analysis of vehicle failures. The results of analysis were used to present suitable tasks of preventive maintenance and required design adjustments of the vehicle that will assist in cutting of maintenance costs and improving availability of the vehicle.
