Condition Monitoring of a Lathe
Condition monitoring of machine tools help in achieving the goal of identifying the faults before the failures actually take place. This paper endeavors to focus on the condition monitoring aspects of a lathe. Various condition monitoring techniques like vibration, acoustic emission, surface roughness and flame atomic absorption spectroscopy (FAAS) have been successfully used for fault identification.
