Research on a Remote Distributed Fault Diagnosis System Based on UML and CORBA

The principles of the technique of UML and CORBA are introduced, and the integrated developing method is also described. A UML model of diagnosis objects can be gained using the technique of UML based on the features and commonness of different remote equipments, and then complete the mapping from different fault diagnosis object to OMG IDL. The encapsulating of a fault module and the joining to remote fault platform can be used by CORBA. Whats more, the analyzing, designing and realizing of the whole remote system can be integrated by UML and CORBA. State detecting, fault diagnosis and predictive maintenance can be combined in this system. Finally, the system has an amplitude foreground with the merits of opening, repeated use and extensibility described with an example.
