The Effect and Value of Information in the Maintenance and Repair of Automobiles

The technology data for automobile servicing is obviously increasing and is required in the maintenance and repair of automobiles now, so the effect and value of information should be discussed systemically in automobile servicing. According to the theory of information, two viewpoints are explained. Firstly, automobile servicing is an action that inputs the information of maintenance and repair into vehicles mat function improperly in order to regain their function. Secondly, the benefit of maintenance and repair is produced mainly from the value of information. In fact the failure condition of an automobile is the dissipation of product information and an increase in entropy. Automobile servicing means infusing the information or negative entropy into a broken-down vehicle, to restore the original function and regain its use value. Based on analysis of the current situation and the future evolution regarding the application of automobile servicing information technology in China, the reasons and forms of automobile servicing information application are discussed, and it is expounded that the technological premise of automobile servicing information applications is information networking and integration.
