Study on Portable Maintenance Aid (PMA)
PMA which is also called Portable Maintenance Aid is now being widely used in US ARMY, and gains significant military utility. In this paper, firstly, the PMAs use in US ARMY is introduced, and then we conclude some meaningful enlightenment to the development of our PMA like maintenance aid. Secondly, focusing on the demand of rapid battlefield damage repair, and taking into account the enlightenment after the review of PMAs use, we discuss the development of a 8DAR system based on Portable Digital Assistant (PDA), its advantages and its development application mode. Finally, based on the discussion, the BDAR system based on PDA is proved to be feasible and meaningful, and some conclusions are supplied.
