Generalizations to Standard GM(1,1) Model

The first-order one-variable grey differentia equation model, abbreviated as GM(1,1) model, is a smallsample based approximation methodology with easy computation advantages. Guo (2005) Guo and Love (2005) developed a GM(1,1) modeling on system lifetimes and isolated the system repair improvements. If the idea of GM(1,1) modeling of system lifetimes is well-accepted in reliability and maintenance engineering community, a convenient small sample-based non-probabilistic optimal maintenance plan can be developed. In mis paper we examine GM(1,1) modeling mechanism from its component-level models and propose families of extended GM(1,1) models via the coupling principle in GM(1,I) model.
