Rationale of GM(1,1) Modeling: A Variation Approach
The first-order one-variable grey differential equation model, abbreviated as GM(1,1) model, is a smallsample based approximation methodology with easy computation advantages. In this paper, we explore the underlying mechanism of GM(1, 1) model, particularly, the lifetime partition into average functioning time, (average) repair-improvement and random error via GM(1,1), We expect this paper pave the way toward wide applications in maintenance planning.
