A Cost Model of Block Replacement with Functional Checks
A special block replacement policy with functional checks is discussed, and a maintenance cost model for such a policy is established. By optimizing the inspection number and intervals, this model can be used to minimize maintenance cost per unit time. An example given to illustrate the model application verifies its validity in reducing the maintenance cost.
