Application of RAMS Techniques on Small and Middle Industries with Particular Reference to Maintenance Improvement
The application of suitable RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability & Safety)techniques is not usual in small and middle industries (SME). On the contrary it has a primary importance in order to improve their continuity of operation and the quality of their production and, consequently, their competitiveness. In this frame, the present paper contains the description of the main features, together with some preliminary application examples, of an innovative software tool developed by ENEA (an important Italian Research Institute) in collaboration with some European industries for the systematic application of RAMS techniques on SMEs with particular reference to the maintenance improvement.
