Expected Repair Times for a Repairable System
Repair actions extend the system operating life and restore the failed system to some operational state. Because of wear and tear, although a repair process is adopted, sometimes the system must be replaced with a new system. The replacements relate not only with the cost of repair actions, but also with the repair degrees and the systems wearing degrees. In this paper, we study the expected repair times before the system is replaced or discarded based on the virtual age, and we presented the formulae of the expected repair times to the typical repair models with a virtual age criterion.
expected repair times virtual age criterion repairable system perfect repair minimal repair imperfect repair.
