A Study on the Isothermal Quiescent/flow-Induced Crystallization (FIC) of Isotactic Polypropylene
The rheological behavior of isotactic polypropylene (iPP) was investigated during isothermal crystallization from the melt under isothermal, quiescent/steady shear flow conditions, respectively. The experimental results clearly showed that the tensile force originated from volume condensation of iPP was very sensitive to the liquid-solid transition during crystallization process. A FIC model based on microrheological theory is successfully used to describe the global crystallization kinetics.
